Wild SalmonWe live in an abundance of natural wonders. Life here revolves around the fascinating life cycle of the Pacific Salmon. All five species flood the inside passage each summer on their migration to their home streams. Here is Dan holding a native Spring King taken in 1997. The Marine Stewardship Council has assessed Alaska's salmon fisheries as being "sustainable, having a minimizing impact on the ecosystem and being well managed." You can take home your catch knowing that there will be plenty of fish for future generations. |

Juneau Alaska offers an enhancement run of hatchery Kings. Fishing these lunkers through the month of June has become an annual event. Generous bag limits allow residents and nonresidents to keep up to 4 Kings per day in the Juneau terminal fishing area. These fish do not count against the Alaska nonresident daily or annual bag limit for King Salmon. |
HalibutNo trip to the Whale's Eye would be complete without the noodle-y arms and cramping leg mussels that accompany an encounter with Hippoglos-sus Stenolepis. You'll wish you had been working out the day we go looking for flat ones. Deepwater ledges and mountain tops ranging from 125 to 600 feet is where we find these lunkers. Scotty here found this "hundred pounder" on a ledge at 430 feet mid August 2003. |

At the end of our day it is time to check your crab pots and head back for one of Karen's home cooked meals. Combine all this with the spectacular beauty of Northern Southeast Alaska and our abundance of daylight in summer and you are going to need a rest when you get back home. |
Great BoatYou will fish with Rick (USCG licensed Captain 16 years) aboard the custom built, state of the art aluminum charter vessel Desire. This vessel was put into service new in 2004. She is outfitted with color sonar and GPS, radar, electric downriggers, wash down system, and most importantly a marine head. The Desire holds a USCG Four Star safety rating which requires a bilge alarm, hi volume bilge pump, a back up radio, and an EPERB (a satellite a based emergency locator beacon). She is equipped with an inflatable raft. We have spared no expense to insure a safe, successful fishing experience. The Desire is a joy to fish with plenty of room to enjoy the wonders of Southeast Alaska. |
