Cody's first King |
Our grandson Cody began his first year as Camp Helper, fill in deck hand and the venerable crab butcher. Cody receives the best new camp slave of the year award for his efforts.
Who's got the biggest 'but? |
Normally we stay out of these issues but this one was easy-both Judy and Doug got big 'buts! And Doug and Judy get this year's perfectly matched 'buts award.
My 'but's bigger than yours. |
I love it when a guest catches a fish bigger than they are-so does Mike. Right Mike? Here is a 171 lb and an 80 lb, not bad for an hour's work. Right Mike? The biggest 'but of the year award goes to Mike.

Dave's Big King.
First it nearly spooled us. Then it went under the boat and got wrapped in the rigging. Next it sucked us into shallow water and threatened to wrap around a crab pot. Then just about 20 feet from the net a seal pops up with Dave's fish in his mouth-TWICE!! |
Dave gets the hardest won fish of the year award. | |
Best Double.
Mike and Tom spring to life as two big fish slam the rods. The trusty guide stands ready with the net. |
Mike gets his in first, A 19 lb COHO!!! Ever diligent the trusty guide makes ready for the next fish. |
A 30 lb FEEDER KING!! Ever more diligent the guide readies the rods for the next double, leaving the photography to someone who left Tom out of the picture. (Oh well we got the important stuff, right Tom?) |
They're coming in so fast the ever-diligent guide can't clear the deck. (Oh, pity.) |
And finally, the morning's catch; Mike and Tom on the right and Whale's Eye Legend, "Blind Man John" to the left. (The above-mentioned photographer.) |
The ever-diligent guide takes it for the best double of the year!
